MASTER LIST

ForestFloor™

ForestFloor™ is built to mirror the rich, humus-heavy soils found on tropical forest floors. It’s designed for houseplants, aroids, and epiphytes that thrive in warm, humid environments where roots need steady moisture, good airflow, and long-term nutrition.

Rather than relying on quick fertilizers or lightweight fillers, ForestFloor™ is engineered using our Biome Replication Technology™ (patent pending) — a process that studies how real forest soils function and rebuilds those systems in a reusable potting mix. When soil structure, organic matter, and minerals are balanced from the start, plants are able to grow steadily without constant correction.

This blend stays loose and breathable while holding moisture evenly. Compost and leaf mold provide the organic backbone and support healthy microbial life. Coco coir helps maintain consistent hydration, while fine bark improves structure and airflow around the roots. Worm castings supply gentle, slow-release fertility, biochar helps retain nutrients in the soil, and rock phosphate supports strong root development and flowering. Dolomite lime helps keep pH stable so nutrients remain available over time.

ForestFloor™ is well suited for foliage plants and tropical species including monsteras, philodendrons, ficus, orchids, bromeliads, palms, and many fast-growing herbs. It performs reliably in containers, indoor plantings, and warm-climate outdoor beds without compacting or breaking down.

To make things easier, we also offer a ForestFloor™ Plant Guide with simple adjustment notes for specific plant types. Built to behave like real rainforest soil, ForestFloor™ provides the balance of moisture, airflow, and fertility tropical plants need to grow steadily and stay healthy.

  • Compost
Supplies rich organic matter and nutrients that fuel steady growth, improve soil structure, and support the microbial life tropical plants depend on.

    Leaf Mold
Increases humus content and holds consistent moisture, creating the soft, fertile conditions found on the rainforest floor.

    Coco Coir
Retains water evenly without becoming soggy, helping roots access steady hydration in warm, humid environments.

    Fine Bark
Provides essential aeration and airflow around the roots, preventing compaction while mimicking the naturally open structure of tropical forest soils.

    Worm Castings
Offer gentle, slow-release nutrition that supports healthy foliage and steady growth without overwhelming sensitive roots.

    Biochar
Helps retain nutrients in the soil and provides long-term habitat for beneficial microbes, improving soil performance with repeated use.

    Rock Phosphate
Supports strong root development and flowering, especially important for tropical plants, orchids, and fruiting species.

    Dolomite Lime
Balances soil pH and supplies calcium and magnesium, ensuring nutrients remain available for consistent uptake.

  • Moisture-Loving Houseplants

Plants like peace lilies, calatheas, stromanthe, marantas, and aglaonemas rely on steady hydration without waterlogged roots. ForestFloor™ balances coco coir and leaf mold for even moisture while fine bark keeps the soil open and breathable. Worm castings provide gentle nutrition that keeps foliage healthy and vibrant.

    Tropical Trees

Fruit-bearing species such as mango, banana, papaya, guava, and citrus thrive in ForestFloor™. Compost and leaf mold supply organic matter for steady growth, coco coir maintains consistent moisture, fine bark prevents compaction, biochar extends long-term fertility, and rock phosphate supports strong root systems capable of supporting heavy growth and fruiting.

    Foliage & Aroid Plants

Monstera, philodendron, pothos, scindapsus, alocasia, and ficus need both nutrients and airflow at the roots. ForestFloor™ delivers with compost and worm castings for robust leaf development, while fine bark maintains the airy structure these plants experience in nature.

    Flowering & Epiphytic Tropicals

Orchids, hoyas, bromeliads, anthuriums, hibiscus, and bougainvillea benefit from ForestFloor™’s open structure and steady moisture. Fine bark supports airflow around roots, coco coir and leaf mold maintain hydration, rock phosphate supports flowering, and biochar helps nutrients remain available longer.

    Palms & Large Tropicals

Parlor palms, areca palms, majesty palms, and bird of paradise thrive in ForestFloor™. Coco coir and leaf mold provide consistent moisture, fine bark prevents compaction, and compost with worm castings supplies long-term nutrition for strong roots and lush growth.

  • ForestFloor™ is designed for plants that thrive in nutrient-rich, moisture-retentive, yet breathable environments. Its blend of compost, leaf mold, coco coir, fine bark, worm castings, biochar, rock phosphate, and dolomite lime creates a balanced soil system that supports steady growth over time.

Moisture Retention — Coco coir and leaf mold hold water evenly without oversaturation
Nutrient Supply — Compost and worm castings provide slow, consistent nutrition
Aeration — Fine bark keeps the soil open and prevents compaction
pH Balance — Dolomite lime stabilizes pH and supplies calcium and magnesium
Long-Term Performance — Biochar helps nutrients stay in the soil instead of washing out

ForestFloor™ is ideal for tropical houseplants, aroids, epiphytes, and fruiting tropicals grown in containers, raised beds, or indoor planters.
