ForestBiome™
ForestBiome™ is a biologically active habitat soil built to replicate the soft, loamy forest floors found in temperate woodlands. It’s designed for plants and systems that require balanced moisture, breathable structure, and a stable, diggable substrate without compaction or muddiness.
ForestBiome™ is engineered using our Biome Replication Technology™, a process that studies how temperate forest soils function in nature and rebuilds those systems in a reusable substrate. When organic matter, structure, and airflow are balanced from the start, moisture distributes evenly and roots remain healthy in moderate-humidity environments.
This blend holds moisture without becoming saturated while staying open and workable. Organic topsoil provides the soil backbone, coco coir helps regulate hydration, pine fines create a fibrous, aerated structure similar to decomposing forest litter, and biochar supports long-term soil performance and biological stability.
ForestBiome™ is well suited for temperate plants, reptiles, amphibians, and bioactive forest enclosures where natural digging behavior and soil stability matter. It performs reliably in terrariums, enclosures, containers, and forest-style plantings.
Built to behave like real forest ground, ForestBiome™ provides a resilient, living foundation that supports healthy roots, active biology, and predictable moisture behavior over time.
-
Organic Topsoil - Forms the natural base of the mix, providing realistic soil structure and cohesion similar to true forest ground.
Coco Coir - Balances moisture by holding water evenly without becoming muddy or compacted, helping maintain consistent hydration.
Pine Fines - Create a fibrous, airy structure that mimics decomposing forest litter, improving airflow and keeping the soil loose and diggable.
Biochar - Supports long-term soil stability and provides habitat for beneficial microorganisms without increasing moisture retention.

ForestBiome™ is a temperate woodland bioactive soil designed to replicate the loose, organic forest floors found beneath tree canopies. It’s built for environments where moderate humidity, stable moisture, and a soft, workable substrate are essential.
ForestBiome™ supports live plants, clean-up crews, and natural digging behaviors without compacting or turning muddy. It’s designed to function as living ground rather than a disposable substrate, making it ideal for bioactive enclosures and forest-style plantings.
-
ForestBiome™ works because it’s built around how real forest soils behave, not around shortcuts or fillers.
Even Moisture Distribution
Coir and organic soil hold water evenly while pine fines keep the profile open and breathable.Diggable, Breathable Structure
Fibrous materials allow airflow and natural movement through the substrate.Structural Stability Over Time
Biochar helps the mix resist breakdown and compaction with repeated use.Forest-Accurate Performance
The soil behaves like real forest ground — soft, resilient, and biologically active.Because the system is balanced from the start, ForestBiome™ remains predictable, easy to manage, and well suited for long-term use in bioactive environments.

ForestBiome™ is a biologically active habitat soil designed to replicate the soft, loamy forest floors of temperate woodlands. Made from organic topsoil, coco coir, pine fines, and biochar, it supports balanced moisture, airflow, and active soil life without becoming compacted or muddy.
Produced using our Biome Replication Technology™, ForestBiome™ is balanced to manage moisture naturally while maintaining a breathable, diggable structure. The mix supports plants, microfauna, and bioactive systems and is ready to use straight out of the bag in terrariums, enclosures, or forest-style plantings.
We study how soil works in the real world. That means collecting live samples from natural environments, testing them in the lab, and paying close attention to how structure, water, nutrients, and biology interact over time.
We combine hands-on fieldwork, extensive lab testing, open-source research, and APSU’s proprietary tools to turn those observations into reliable potting mixes. Each blend is built to stay structurally sound, hold nutrients through exchange rather than leaching, and support living biology long after planting. The result is a reusable soil system that performs consistently in containers, gardens, and habitats—so growers spend less time correcting problems and more time growing.
