Snap Snacks™

In the wild, carnivorous plants rely on the minerals, proteins, and enzymes found in captured prey to grow and thrive. Snap Snacks™ is a naturally inspired feeding blend designed to replicate the nutrition of soft-bodied and small invertebrate insects—offering a clean, shelf-stable, and highly effective way to feed your plants without live bugs.

Crafted from finely ground organic ingredients, Snap Snacks™ delivers the amino acids, trace minerals, and proteins your carnivorous plants crave. Whether you're growing sundews on a windowsill, flytraps in a bog garden, or Nepenthes in a terrarium, this mess-free formula supports strong trap formation, vivid coloration, and consistent year-round growth.

Perfect for beginners and advanced growers alike, Snap Snacks™ mimics the diet these plants would naturally consume—without the hassle of feeding live prey.

What’s Inside and Why

Mealworms, Bloodworms, Crickets & Grasshoppers: These dried insects are rich in protein, fats, and chitin, closely mirroring the nutritional profile of natural prey. They provide a full spectrum of essential amino acids, calcium for trap development, and soft-body protein that fuels healthy, vigorous growth.

Spirulina (Microalgae Meal): A concentrated source of chlorophyll, protein, and trace elements. Enhances leaf color, supports photosynthesis, and promotes trap vitality.

Insect Frass: Rich in nitrogen and chitin—triggers enzyme production, strengthens plant immunity, and mimics the waste left behind by digested insects.

Fermented Alfalfa Meal: High in amino acids, natural plant hormones, and calcium. Encourages healthy leaf and root development and supports flowering.

Yeast Extract: Provides B vitamins and enzymes that help simulate the microbial breakdown of prey, improving nutrient absorption and digestive function.

Kelp Meal: A slow-release source of potassium and trace minerals that boosts plant resilience and promotes root and trap health.

Microcrustacean Meal: Offers bioavailable calcium, phosphorus, and marine-derived proteins—ideal for mimicking the nutrition of aquatic and airborne prey.

Feeding Instructions

Sundews (Drosera): Dust one or two tentacles per plant lightly every 7–10 days. Encourages sticky gland production and robust leaf growth.

Venus Flytraps (Dionaea): Place a small pinch into an active trap every 2–4 weeks. Mist lightly to stimulate closure and digestion. Avoid feeding during dormancy.

Pitcher Plants (Nepenthes): Sprinkle a small amount into open pitchers every 2–3 weeks. Dissolves gradually, supporting pitcher health and nutrient uptake.

Butterworts (Pinguicula): Lightly dust sticky leaves every 10–14 days, especially during flowering or rapid growth phases.

Other Carnivores (Heliamphora, Cephalotus, etc.): Use at half strength. For species-specific instructions and seasonal adjustments, refer to our Snap Snacks™ Feeding Guide.
