Botrytis Mold
Identification: Botrytis mold (Gray Mold) appears as a fuzzy, grayish-brown mold on plant leaves, stems, and flowers, often affecting damaged or decaying plant tissues.
Symptoms: Soft, brown spots on leaves and stems, moldy patches on flowers, and fruit rot. Infected areas are often covered with a gray, fuzzy fungal growth.
Control:
Pruning: Remove infected plant material immediately to prevent the spread of the fungus.
Air Circulation: Improve airflow around plants by spacing them properly and using fans if indoors.
Organic Fungicides: Use copper-based or sulfur-based fungicides to control the spread of Botrytis.
Environmental Management: Reduce humidity levels and avoid watering plants from above to limit mold growth.
